Kibbutz Ein Hashofet is located in northern Israel, in the Menashe Heights region, approximately 30 km from the city of Haifa. A flowing spring is located near the kibbutz.
The kibbutz was established in 1937 and moved to its current location a year later. It was named after Judge Louis D. Brandeis, one of the great leaders of American Jewry. The name “Hashofet” means “The Judge” in Hebrew.

History and Foundations: Before settling in Ein Hashofet, the unification of the Hashomer Hatzair group from Poland and the first group of Hashomer Hatzair from North America formed one kibbutz. This was the first kibbutz established by the pioneering Aliyah from North America.
The settlement of Ein Hashofet in Ramat Menashe took place as part of the “wall and tower” settlement initiative, and Ein Hashofet was a pioneer of settlement in the region.

Community and Population: Throughout the years, the kibbutz has played a leading role in settlement, security, and absorption efforts. Since 1951, Ein Hashofet has hosted over 100 Ulpans (Hebrew study programs). Thousands of students have studied there, including dozens of Ulpan graduates who chose to remain and make the kibbutz their home.
Today, the kibbutz has a population of approximately 800 residents, including 160 children, as well as about 80 Ulpan students and international volunteers.

Culture and Community Life: Ein Hashofet offers a wide range of cultural and community activities, including joint celebrations of Jewish holidays, trips, cultural events, an internal weekly newspaper, video projects, study groups, and the “Community Learning” project. Internal communication is a central element of kibbutz life, and the community invests significant effort in maintaining it.
